FAQ:
 What’s bikeTV?
A half-hour (28 min.) television show produced by an eclectic group of bicycling enthusiasts in the NYC area and beyond.   The show usually features three of four stories an episode about various bicycle phenomena.  Though much of the show takes place in NYC, we often showcase events in other big bicycling cities as well.  Our mission is to enlighten and encourage people of every age and persuasion to get on a bike by showing the very diverse and fun nature of it all.

 How can I see bikeTV?
Many ways.  There are dozens of fun clips on our website. You can also watch us via cable access in a number of cities throughout the U.S.  In addition, from time to time we make available for purchase episodes or “best of” episodes.  And finally, sometimes individual pieces or episodes are featured in bike film festivals.

Oh shucks, you’re not on in my area. When do you plan on going on in more Cities, States, Planets?
We are in the process of expanding the number of markets we air in.  So check back frequently. As long as the cable access station(s) in your area accepts the DVD format and we can find a sponsor (maybe you?) to fill out the paperwork we have a good chance of getting on.  Contact us at info@bikeTV.org and let’s talk.

Can I watch “live” from my home computer?
Many cable access stations offer real time viewing via their own websites.  For example, check out the MNN web site for details on how to watch their live web cast via a home computer from anywhere in America.

 What’s on bikeTV?
Every one of our stories has a cycling element to it.  We might do a story about the benefits of bicycling.  Or tips on how to fix your bike.  Or we might air a bike film.  Or talk to random people on the street about what could be done to make it easier for them to cycle to work.  We also profile unique cyclists and events and try to sprinkle in as much comedy wherever possible in segments like "The Amazing Bike Haiku Bros.”  The bike world has limitless possibilities.

Will I like bikeTV even if I don’t ride a bike?
Even if you have a bias against bikes, we predict you will love bikeTV.   The show is all about the human element of riding bikes, and the mostly alfresco experience that comes with it.  Plus, we think we are funny.

Who’s in the eclectic team? Can I join?
Our team and contributors run the gamut from very experienced, hard-core, bike riding filmmakers to novice weekend riders who have just started using a camera.  Check out some of our fun bios. Still game?  Then we want you!  Drop us an e-mail and let's talk!  Video/editing/on-camera experience is great, but not at all required if you have enthusiasm.  And no, you don’t even have to be from NYC!

I did a bike film or short that I want to get on bikeTV. Any interest?

How do I get bikeTV to cover my bike thingy?
E-mail us and give us a heads up with as much time as possible.  We are interested in events, racing, advocacy, cool bike stories, rides and cyclists…if it involves a bike, then it is fair game.  Remember, since we are volunteers - our time and preferences effect what we can and do cover.  But if we can’t do it, perhaps video the event yourself and give it us?!

I have a bicycling question that has nothing to do with bikeTV. Will you answer it?
Send it.  We'll be glad to try. Our volunteers are all enmeshed in the nucleus of the bicycling culture.  But try our link resources on our home page which might better serve you.
